"The Age to Come"

NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH
named in the next chapter, in the following words:
"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed
away; and there was no more sea." Rev. xxi. l.
Peter, speaking of the same great and glorious change, says:
"The heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat;
the earth also, and the works that are therein, shall be burned up. * * Nevertheless, we,
according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth
righteousness." 2 Pet. iii. 10-13.
Isaiah utters the following prediction, relative to the same change:
"For behold, I create new heavens, and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered,
nor come into mind." Isa. lxv. 17.
On this new earth there will be no devil to tempt or deceive, no wicked to annoy; for none but the
righteous shall dwell in that pure world, in which there will be "no more curse." (Rev. xxii. 3.) On this
